Temperatures felt like Spring on Thursday, but two powerful cold fronts will end the mild trend.
“Unfortunately sub-zero weather is in the forecast and we are looking at wind chill values of about 30 below”, said Meteorologist Nikki Lehtola. Skies will be partly sunny with temperatures climbing into the upper 30s.
Temperatures will fall to single digits this afternoon (01/15/16) and bottoming out well below zero tonight.
The blue area is under a wind chill advisory. While a storm strengthens close to the “benchmark” for winter weather, there is no cold “blocking high” to the north to help lock in the cold. Highs slowly moderate, with readings in the lower to middle 30s.
