Another former Packers quarterback, Bart Starr, also was scheduled to attend the game.

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery is stopped short of a touchdown on a 22-yard gain in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s matchup at Lambeau Field.

Starr, 81, has been working in rehabilitation in hopes of returning to Green Bay for the event since suffering two strokes, a heart attack and multiple seizures in September 2014.

In August 2014, when Favre and the Packers first announced plans to retire his number, it was Favre who suggested during a conference call with reporters that Starr be part of the festivities.

The Chicago Bears went into the depths of Lambeau Field on an emotional Thanksgiving night in which the Green Bay Packers retired Brett Favre’s number and came out with a 17-13 victory.

Cutler was a little better, somewhat of a surprise given how poorly he has played at Green Bay in his career with the Bears. “It was fun to watch”, Fox said.

Cutler was 19-for-31 for 200 yards and one touchdown for Chicago (5-6), who won for the third time in four games.

Favre says crossing Coach Mike Holmgren was a no-no unless he was sure he could get the ball to his receiver.

From here on out means the San Francisco 49ers (4-6) and Washington Redskins (3-7) at home and with 10 days to recover.

Green Bay running back Eddie Lacy had 105 rushing yards, his second consecutive 100-yard game.

HOLD ON: Robbie Gould’s 21-yard field goal in the fourth quarter for Chicago was the only scoring for either team in the second half of a game played in dreary conditions. “To me a really great quarterback, you really know if a guy’s great if he can carry his team when the rest of the team’s just OK and they lose guys and they plug guys in, but yet they still win”.

It put ball security at a premium. Shortly after, Jeremy Langford got in with some muscle, officially giving the Bears the lead.

“A huge win for this team”, safety Chris Prosinski said.

The defense made the biggest statement.

Lacy nearly became infamous Thursday when he dropped the football right as he crossed the goal line for a 25-yard touchdown run.
