Braun also drove in the Brewers’ first run of the day with a first-inning groundout.

Braun connected off Phillies starter Aaron Harang on a 1-1 pitch to cap a five-run fifth inning as the Brewers beat the Phillies for the seventh straight time. He’s unsecured on in 25 of 40 appearances this season, with 45 strikeouts in just 39 1/3 innings.

After a three-game sweep of the Padres to begin this lengthy road trip, the Phillies end things by losing five out of the last six on the trip.

Blazek, acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals as the player to be named later in the trade of former closer John Axford in 2013, has a 2.43 ERA and 1.042 WHIP in 45 appearances and 55.2 innings this season, striking out 47 in what has been a very solid first full season in the majors. A single by Elian Herrera and a throwing error on Jeff Francoeur allowed Segura to score the tying run.

“He has the one (curveball) where he gets it over for a strike and one where it looks like it is in the strike zone long enough and then the bottom just falls out of it”, Phillies slugger Ryan Howard said.

In the seventh, Gennett led off with a bunt single down the third base line. Then, Jonathon Lucroy walked right before Harang surrendered Braun’s grand slam.

Rookie starting pitcher Taylor Jungmann was able to bounce back from a bad outing, and put up good numbers against the Phillies Sunday. They batted just 3-for-28 with runners in scoring position during the three-game series. Jungmann left to a loud ovation from the 33,920 fans on a warm and muggy afternoon.Blanco snapped the shutout with a homer off Neal Cotts in the ninth.

As numerous trade rumors continued to swirl around Chase Utley, the Phillies 2nd baseman had yet another strong game, but the Phillies lost once again. Utley has cleared waivers and gone 13-for-26 in seven games since recovering from an ankle injury and coming off the disabled list. 378 (14-for-37) in those situations for the season…. Braun, of course, stirred controversy a couple of years back when he lied about his PED use and served a 65-game suspension.
