Brewers trade Jean Segura to Diamondbacks in 5-player deal
The Brewers completed a major trade with the Diamondbacks on Saturday evening that was as much about clearing the way for the organization’s top prospect as it was about the players they received in return.

The Arizona Diamondbacks traded minor league shortstop Isan Diaz to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday in a deal that sent Jean Segura to Arizona, per Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Finally, the Brewers also receive infield prospect, Isan Diaz.
“We went through a number of different iterations and discussions with different players involved, and ultimately this concept picked up steam over the past week”.
The 25-year-old Segura hit. He has put up great numbers the last couple of years in the minors as a starter, but got hit hard in three starts in the majors in 2015.
The Diamondbacks also receive 25-year-old righty, Tyler Wagner. 303 with 21 steals a year ago, to Atlanta in a deal for pitcher Shelby Miller in December. “Aaron has a long history of production and positional versatility”, he said. He’ll be 34 next season and hasn’t shown his past All-Star form in a bit, hitting.230/.295/.345 last season. After a productive first year and a half, he struggled at the plate the last couple of seasons, batting.
The 28-year-old Anderson was 6-6 with a 4.30 ERA in 27 starts last season.

Anderson has proven over two seasons that he can be the fifth man in a Major League rotation, and while the Brewers have plenty of young arms, they could use more Big League guarantees. He made his Major League debut last season as he started three games for the Brewers (his first coming on May 31 vs. Arizona), going 0-2 with a 7.24 ERA. Look for him to steal 20-plus bases for the fourth year in a row, and hit toward the bottom of Arizona’s lineup. He’s yet to play above rookie ball, but does have a.291/.377/.515 line with 16 home runs in 454 career minor league at bats, including 13 home runs in just 272 at bats in 2015. 268 hitter with 151 home runs and 650 RBI in 1,400 games; most of his time has been spent at second base but he’s also played third base and shortstop.
