Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing set-piece specialist Hakan Calhanoglu from Bayer Leverkusen, but the attacking midfielder is keen to stay with the Bundesliga club.

Sky sources understand Spurs are looking for another creative player and the 22-year-old Turkey global fits that profile.
The young England gem made his name in the Premier League as a number 10, of course, but Spurs could have a lot more games this season as a result of their Champions League participation and versatility might be key in how they manage an increase in important fixtures.
Calhanoglu’s agent told German outlet Express via Sky Sports that “it is true that Tottenham have registered their interest with me”.
Calhanoglu, who is known for his remarkable technical ability and free-kicks, has been touted to depart the Bundesliga after two seasons on the books of Bayer.
Spurs, who finished third in the Premier League in 2015-16, were said to be monitoring Marseille’s Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, but any potential deal for the winger appears to have stalled.
Nabil Bentaleb is of interest to Schalke while Nacer Chadli and Tom Carroll are also surplus to Pochettino’s plans.

Calhanoglu scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in his debut campaign with Leverkusen and added a further eight goals and 11 assists last season and his agent, Bektas Demirtas, has revealed Tottenham have been in touch with him.
