Liam Bridcutt will be the only member of Sunderland’s first-team squad to leave the club before the emergency loan deadline after completing his move to Leeds.

The former Chelsea trainee is the first player to join Leeds since Steve Evans was appointed head coach last month.
Leeds have been chasing Bridcutt for nearly a month and have managed to beat off competition from Cardiff and Reading to secure the 26-year-old.
“I’ve been playing reserve games at Sunderland and I’ve been keeping myself fit”.
“I’ve been speaking to the manager and he’s given me a great opportunity to come and play for a brilliant club”.
“It’s been on and off for the last few weeks now”, said Bridcutt.
“Meanwhile, in the opposite direction, Sunderland have recalled winger Will Buckley, who has had little impact since joining Leeds on loan while Uwe Rosler was at the helm”.
“He’s given me a good opportunity to come and play and hopefully I can do that”. That is one of the main reasons why I have come here.
Buckley arrived at Elland Road at the start of October, but was limited to just four Championship appearances, three of which were as a substitute.

Bridcutt has yet to feature for the Black Cats’ senior squad this season, but he did play the full 120 minutes of the Under-21s’ defeat to Liverpool on Sunday where Cardiff scouts were said to be watching on.
