Cummings was arrested shortly after the stabbings and is being charged with two counts of assault.

An altercation ensued, and Cummings allegedly stabbed both sisters before riding off on a bicycle, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Police say a man approached them at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and stabbed them both.

Their alleged attacker – Kalief Cummings – pleaded not guilty to assault in court Tuesday. “Then Melissa tried to intervene and he stabbed her too”.

One of the victims identified Cummings from surveillance footage, WKLY reports. The bride-to-be was simply going to get something eat in the middle of the bachelorette party when the stabbing occurred, according to her father.

Melissa and Sherrie are expected to make a full recovery, and doctors said they could be home by the end of the week.

They were transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Their father says he’s not sure if the wedding will go on as planned this Saturday.
