Director Sharon Maguire secured Ed Sheeran’s cameo in Bridget Jones’s Baby thanks to music industry connections she made on her daily school run.
Dempsey stars alongside Renee Zellweger in the latest Bridget Jones sequel as Colin Firth’s new love rival, Jack Qwant, as they try to figure out who fathered Bridget Jones’ baby.
We weren’t allowed to take any pics or tell anyone where we were that day and anything to do with the script and plot was kept very under wraps, so I can’t wait to see it and see how that scene plays into the whole thing.
Patrick also shared in a recent statement that he is willing to reprise his role in a fourth installment of “Bridget Jones” if there would be one. It turns out that she was simply interested in pursuing other interests, and didn’t want to keep delaying until they were no longer an option.
“She makes it ok to be imperfect”, Zellweger said. “My kids love Ed Sheeran, I love Ed Sheeran, my mum loves Ed Sheeran, so I thought ‘fantastic”.
“The reason I went to that event was that she wanted me to go, so she could be on the red carpet with me and prove to herself she wasn’t being defeated by this bad disease”.
“If her character has failed to grow any wiser or more interesting, Zellweger still delivers her with enough charm to carry the film over the finish line”.
“But I think…there’s an enduring love for this character”. Besides – I don’t want to stay the same! Now at her goal weight and a senior TV producer, Bridget nevertheless continues to fall over, say the wrong thing and take disheartening phone calls from her mother (now inexpertly Facetiming).
