On Thursday, Bridgewater released a statement for the first time since his knee injury coming earlier in the week. Some of his teammates could barely stomach the ghastly knee injury. The injury was stabilized, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. Vikings trainer Eric Sugarman confirmed the complete tear of the ACL and dislocated knee on the Vikings’ website on Tuesday evening, and NFL.com reported that the Louisville product will miss the entire season. The Vikings have said Bridgewater was fortunate to avoid damage to his arteries and nerves. Bridgewater will have surgery in the next several days, the team announced in a statement Tuesday evening, and could require up to a year to recover from the injury. “We’re not talking about a 34-year-old guy toward the end, so we expect a full recovery”. I would like to thank all of the medical professionals and our athletic training staff for all of their help today.

“Today is a disappointing day”.

Without Bridgewater, the Vikings will turn to journeyman veteran Shaun Hill with undrafted rookie Joel Stave and Brad Sorensen, a seventh-round pick by the San Diego Chargers in 2013, as Hill’s backups. We got some great football players on this team.

“We’re going to figure out a way”, Zimmer said. “Everybody can count us out if they want”, a defiant Zimmer stressed, “but I think that would be the wrong thing to do”. “We’re not going to make excuses”.

Kelly said Tuesday that Kaepernick will play in the team’s final exhibition game Thursday night in San Diego after missing the first two preseason games with a exhausted shoulder.

The California native spent time with the Chargers in 2013, 2014 and 2015, mostly on the practice squad.

Zimmer said he has already had preliminary discussions with general manager Rick Spielman about adding another quarterback if necessary, and he vowed to enter the season with hopes as high as they were before Bridgewater went down.

Losing Bridgewater would be a huge blow for Minnesota, which went 11-5 and won the NFC North last season with him starting all 16 games, and looked to be the division favorite against this year.

Although the recovery time will be significant we expect Teddy to make a full recovery. Minnesota Vikings
