Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw three first-half touchdowns to help Team Irvin jump out to a 21-7 lead and cruise to a 49-27 win. Center Mike Pouncey was also selected to the game, but did not make the trip due to an injury.

Wilson took full advantage of the weapons at his disposal, throwing touchdown passes to receiver Julio Jones and running back Devonta Freeman of the Atlanta Falcons and another to St. Louis Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley in the first half. Bridgewater, Minnesota’s quarterback, had touchdown passes to Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles and Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Allen Robinson (two catches, 105 yards). The future of the National Football League will also be participating in the 2016 Pro Bowl, as both Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater were picked to play on Team Irvin.

Wilson was the game’s offensive MVP by going 8 of 12 for 164 yards and three touchdowns.

Cox, a long snapper for the Baltimore Ravens, was named to the Pro Bowl roster on January 19 as a “need” player by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who will coach one of the teams.

With no Super Bowl trip this season for the Seahawks, their stars came to play – and dominate – at the Pro Bowl on Sunday. He threw for 4,024 passing yards, 34 touchdowns and eight interceptions, becoming the first quarterback in Seahawks history to reach the 4,000-yard mark. Team Rice cut into Team Irvin’s lead again, when running back DOUG MARTIN scurried forward and then he had to muscle through an attempted tackle by Team Irvin free safety HARRISON SMITH to get into the end zone.

NFC format ran from 1970 until 2013, when the National Football League attempted to revive interest in the game, which had always struggled to find an audience, by naming two honorary captains and allowing them to “draft” players from a single pool of Pro Bowl players.

Safety Reshad Jones was the Dolphins’ lone starter as he recorded three solo tackles and a pass defensed for Team Irvin.

The 2016 NFL Pro Bowl draft was held in an airplane hangar at the Wheeler Army Airfield, at Wahiawa in the central plain of Oahu, the most populated of the Hawaiian Islands. Team Irvin receiver DEANDRE HOPKINS secured a 7 yard touchdown reception in front of Team Rice cornerback BRENT GRIMES with 7:50 left in the game.
