Brie Larson finds her voice and best-actress Oscar in ‘Room’
Upon accepting the trophy, Larson thanked the 9-year-old actor who played her son, Jacob Tremblay, and then singled out Greenwald. The movie didn’t win any other Oscar that night, which made us wonder: How many Best Actress-winning films have actually won another Oscar? “Congrats darling. So so soooooo…”, Lakshmi tweeted, posting a picture of her with Brie Larson.

“I love you, the whole thing”, she said adorably about her boyfriend.
Prior to her latest win, the actress stunned in a powder blue Atelier Versace gown for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The Best Actress category had a star-studded line-up with Cate Blanchett (Carol), Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Charlotte Rampling (45 Years) and Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn).
In the clip, Donoghue reveals that she knew right away “Room” would make a terrific film, so she began writing a screenplay before the book was even published.
Backstage, Larson was given a chance to elaborate on her acceptance speech, during which she dedicated her award to “the men and women who have survived sexual abuse”. The actress told Roberts that filming in the country has reminded her of what she calls her “responsibility” of acting.
It’s fair to say Brie Larson’s film career has outshone her efforts in the music industry.
Pakistani journalist and filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, victor of Best Documentary Short Subject Film for “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”, poses during the 88th Academy Awards in Hollywood, California February 28, 2016. Larson had built up an impressive head of steam this award season, taking top honors from BAFTA, the Critics’ Choice Awards, the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards, among others.
Next up for the star is Kong: Skull Island, which is set to be released in 2017.
Mary Cybulski Larson played Amy Schumer’s sister in “Trainwreck”.
“I anxious that being the lead meant that the movie was about me”, she said.
