Bright college teens held in death of ‘awesome little girl’

High school classmates of David Eisenhauer – a Virginia Tech freshman charged Saturday with killing a 13-year-old girl – are reportedly in disbelief that he could be responsible for her death.

Virginia authorities say Eisenhauer knew Nicole Madison Lovell and an investigation shows he used that relationship to abduct her before disposing of the girl’s body with the assistance of the other Tech student.

Blacksburg police say seventh-grader Nicole Madison Lovell’s body was found in North Carolina on Saturday, four days after she disappeared.

19-year-old Natalie Keepers faces a felony charge of improper disposal of a body, and a separate misdemeanor charge of accessory after the fact in commission of a felony.

Monday, the two people police believe are responsible for her what happened to her, made their first court appearance in Virginia. Both are jailed without bond, and told a judge they have lawyers.

Keepers was double majoring in oceanic engineering and aerospace engineering, with dreams of working for NASA, said Pangburn, who attended Hammond High School and Virginia Tech with Keepers.

Nineteen-year-old Natalie Keepers entered the court wearing an orange jumpsuit with handcuffs and shackles. Nicole often cried at the thought of going to school, so Weeks said she often let Nicole stay home.

LeMon said it was “very difficult” to hear about the charges but did not want to comment further because the allegations are pending.

At this point in time, both Eisenhauer and Keepers are being held without bail at the Montgomery County Jail in Virginia.

David D. Eisenhauer, of Columbia, Maryland, was referred to as an “outstanding” athlete, one of Maryland’s top college cross country runners. David Eisenhauer, 18, is charged with her kidnapping and first-degree murder.

“God got her through all that, and she fought through all that, and he took her life”, she told The Washington Post.

Lovell endured a liver transplant, MRSA, and lymphoma when she was 5, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Keepers’ friend Carolyn Pangburn, 18, said Keepers had a boyfriend at the time Pangburn last spoke with her and never mentioned Eisenhauer in any other context other than as someone who helped her with her math work. Police said Eisenhauer has not confessed and did not offer any information that led to Lovell’s remains.

Apparently Nicole spent a lot of time online posting on social media, which is where police and her mother believe she met Eisenhauer.

Davy Draper, a family friend, told the Associated Press Nicole was an energetic and outspoken girl who got along with everyone.

A state police search and recovery team has been searching a pond on the Virginia Tech campus, but state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller would not say what they were looking for.

Lovell was described as “an awesome little girl” who had a tough life. “She was an angel here on Earth and she’s an angel now”, Mr. Draper told The Associated Press on Sunday.

A number listed for Eisenhauer’s parents was busy Sunday.

Her distraught dad put out a desperate plea on social media: “Nicole, honey, if you see this if you’re out there you can come to me”.

Keepers volunteered in her free time at a Lutheran Church in Laurel, Maryland, according to Reuters, which cited a LinkedIn profile that appeared to match Keepers’ background.
