Reports say she will appear in several episodes in a major role, but who she will play and what she’ll be getting up to is still a mystery.

Best known for film work, including roles in Men Girls, Les Miserables and Ted 2 on her CV, Seyfried has multiple TV credits to her name and was seen most recently in HBO series Big Love in 2011.

Mark Frost and David Lynch are writing the entirety of the series, which has no definite length yet but will be longer than the nine episodes previously announced.

The revival is set in the present day and is promised to “continue the lore of the original series”. Filming is now underway in Washington state with original cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbook and Sherilyn Fenn returning to reprise their roles.

“I never had doubt we would get him back, Twin Peaks is a huge priority for us”, Nevins said in May. Lynch is also directing all episodes. Lily Kane is often compared with Laura Palmer, in that both are lovely , energetic, full of secrets, and died before the start of their respective series’ first episode, only to return periodically in visions, flashbacks and the like.
