Britain’s Murray brothers win tense doubles against Australia
As against France in the quarter-finals the brothers started slowly, sometimes not quite sure of where each other were, and it was also apparent that something was bothering the world number three with his back.

Britain last reached the Davis Cup final in 1978, losing to the United States, and their ninth and most recent title came in 1936.
But although Tomic posed a threat at points, Murray overcame any tiredness to triumph 7-5, 6-3, 6-2 much to the delight of the supportive home crowd.
“It’s not only our mum that goes though it, a lot of the time it’s all of them”.
Japan’s tennis team pose for a selfie as they celebrate their victory against Colombia during the Davis Cup World Group play-offs in Pereira, Colombia, Sunday, September 20, 2015.
The world number 300 was a surprise selection by captain Leon Smith, having been a late call-up to the squad following an injury suffered by Kyle Edmund.
Since then, the Scot’s plans have come together like those of George Peppard’s character in an episode of the A-Team.
But the third-ranked Murray said the 3-hour, 56-minute match had left him tired ahead of his match with Tomic, who was rested on Saturday.
Andy Murray has revealed that he had to deal with a troublesome back injury as he led Great Britain into the Davis Cup final.
Argentina would be a tough match, it would obviously be good if they could get through and we can play in the UK.
The reigning Olympic champion snared a fourth service break for 5-2 and completed the rout a minute quicker than his 6-3 6-0 6-3 first-day win over Thanasi Kokkinakis to raise the roof at the Emirates Arena.
The form guide wasn’t exactly in his favour. He had hit double the amount of unforced errors at this stage and almost half Murray’s number of winners, per Flashscore.com-the statistics accurately reflecting what was a one-sided match.
The Scottish public have learned to love tennis. The Belgian eventually rediscovered his composure and won it seven points to three.
There was the odd flash of genius from Tomic but it didn’t take long before he was fighting a desperate rearguard action here.
But Darcis was the better player throughout, and he was very close to closing out the tall southpaw in four sets without any complications before he got tight and failed to convert two match points while serving for the match, which allowed Delbonis a break to level at 5-all.
Murray, who opened the tie with an ace, came up with some incredible returns which saw him break Tomic in the fourth game.
“It’s so noisy in there, it’s hot, it’s draining with all the emotions from the first point to the last”.

There were no histrionics from the occasionally temperamental Tomic here, just a realisation that this one was getting away from him fast. Should Tomic be able to take a set off Murray, something he has never done in either of their best of three sets encounters, then it could work to highlight any jadedness.
