Britain’s Prince William, Kate tour Vancouver without kids
Prince William, Kate, and their kids landed in Canada on Saturday for a slew of visits to various parts of British Columbia and Western Canada through October 1.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie, joined the royal couple for a visit to the Immigration Services Society of British Columbia. She was wearing a pretty red and white broderie anglaise Alexander McQueen dress with a tiered skirt stopping above the knee and fitted shirt style bodice teamed with red high heels and matching purse.
The Duke of Cambridge has said his children were beginning their own “lifetime of friendship” with Canada as Prince George took his first tentative steps in the country.
A royal aide said: “They spent a lot looking out of the window and talking to the pilot”.
The couple also is scheduled to meet young leaders of various industries in Canada and some of Vancouver’s first responders. Then the friends just happened to bump into the cast of the Descendants – a Disney movie about royals – that was filming at Royal Roads University.
The royal couple started their day at Jack Poole Plaza, arriving in a floatplane from Victoria, their home base during this tour.
On Monday the royal couple will travel to nearby Vancouver by sea plane where they will carry out a day of engagements.
“Moving through the program with them, their questions were thoughtful, their questions were informed”, she said.
William and Kate travelled Sunday without their children, three-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who is one.
Minutes before the social service agency for mothers with addiction issues welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, an aging woman in sweats slowly shuffled past, leaning heavily on a walker, a cigarette gripped between two fingers. “Their voices matter, their lives matter and their kids matter”, Zettel said.
They will visit Sheway, an outreach centre for pregnant women on the downtown eastside, and have a chance to interact with the mothers, children and staff there. William’s mother Diana was on hand when Sheway’s precursor opened in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1991.
“Along the way they will meet as many Canadians as possible, and will help celebrate Canada’s First Nations communities, its arts and culture, pristine and lovely environment, and its compassionate and innovative charitable sector”.
Some lined up for hours to see William and Kate at the legislature.
The royals will then visit an immigrant welcome center where they will meet with a newly arrived refugee family from Syria.

While Australia, Jamaica and Barbados have talked about becoming republics, Canada has shown less interest in replacing Queen Elizabeth II as the figurative head of state. She paired the look with a bright red clutch and red shoes.
