British air force helicopter crashes on Welsh mountain
All six people who were on board have reported to be safe, according to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Subsequently the aircraft caught fire.

A rescue helicopter was soon on the scene. “Emergency services are on the scene”.
The incident involved a RAF Griffin helicopter. “Emergency services are on the scene”.
Sky’s Defence Correspondent Alistair Bunkall said a Griffin helicopter was involved in the incident, and that all four people on board got out safely before the helicopter caught fire.
Walker, Huw Price, reported seeing huge flames from where the helicopter landed. One guy on his way down from the summit and he saw a helicopter land there.
Witnesses said thick black smoke can be seen for miles around the top of the Welsh peak. “Another with binoculars said the flames were over ten feet high and obscured whatever was on fire”.

North Wales Police tweeted that a military helicopter made a precautionary landing on Yr Aran. “North Wales Police have also been informed”.
