British PM May says will not reveal hand on Brexit prematurely
Number 10 distanced itself from David Davis when he said it was “very improbable” Britain would stay in the single market, for which European Union leaders will likely demand free movement in return.

Accused by opposition lawmakers of “waffling” and lacking detail, Davis suggested there was little to lose to gain the restrictions over immigration despite warnings by European Union officials that Britain must accept the bloc’s four freedoms – including that of free movement – to be a member of the single market.
This sparked concerns that ministers are “confused” and can not agree policy on leaving the European Union, and Mrs May is expected to face questions on the issue after delivering a Commons statement on the G20 summit in China.
“First and foremost, we demand that the British people should have their say on the final deal in a referendum”, Farron said in an article issued by The Guardian.
Mr. Davis certainly has a daunting task. “It’s time for some detail”, said the MP who is backing the Open Britain group that has sprung out of the Remain campaign from the referendum.
“It can’t be both”.
Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, accused the Government of issuing “contradictory messages” on the issue, exacerbating the “huge uncertainty” about the UK’s future.
The Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, protested that she had left a “cloud of secrecy” hanging over the talks by refusing to answer basic questions about her government’s stance. What about food and drink producers? – and we are getting nothing.
Leader Tim Farron, whose party campaigned to stay in the European Union, says it would be “completely unfair” if voters were not given a say on the deal devised by Brexit ministers. “It is not about the Norway model or the Swiss model or any other country’s model, it is about developing our own British model”, she added.
Mrs May has insisted she will not reveal her negotiating hand “prematurely”.
He laid out the principles of the negotiations and tried not to reveal the government’s negotiation hand in his statement. “But frankly there isn’t much we can seriously talk about in detail, which is really what trade deals are all about, until we know what their relationship will be with the European Union”, he said, on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject.
Mrs May is heading straight to a meeting of the Cabinet after landing back in the country following the brief trip to China for the G20 meeting of world leaders, where she sought to win support for the United Kingdom as it prepares for life outside the EU. “The G20 is an excellent opportunity for May to begin to build the foundations for these trading relationships, face to face, which will be critical to making a success of Brexit”.
Davis said that securing a deal that is in Britain’s national interest does not and must not mean turning its back on Europe.
“That has never been the British way. We are actually going to deliver on it”.

Despite warnings from the U.S. and Japan against trading with post-Brexit Britain, May confirmed that India, Mexico, South Korea, Singapore, China and Australia are interested in opening discussions about improving free trade with the UK.
