Suspected Manchester paedophile Chris Ling has shot and killed himself yesterday (1 September 2015) in California after police circled his Los Angeles home.

Christopher Ling, a teacher from Manchester, England, faced extradition to his homeland to answer accusations that he abused as many as 10 girls while he taught at a music school during the 1980s.

Greater Manchester Police said it was considering launching extradition proceedings previous year after evidence detailing complaints about Ling were submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service.

US authorities were in the process of extraditing Ling, and police were inside his home when he pulled the trigger.

A spokeswoman for the US Marshals Office said: “A team of US Marshals went to arrest Mr Ling and before they could do so he shot himself”.

Investigators say Ling was wanted in the United Kingdom for multiple counts of indecent assault on a minor.
