Britney Spears Admits She’s Nervous About VMAs Peformance

For the first time in nearly a decade, Britney performed live at the VMAs. I have no recollection. But, you know what, I don’t remember at all.

Britney Spears is a Goddess of the stage, as the star has been in the business for well over 15 years, but the Glory songstress does say that there are some things that still make her nervous. However, on a brighter note, the singer’s delivery throughout Glory sounds more invested than it has in years, which partially makes up for her vocal shortcomings. But for her first look of the night, the pop superstar took a more simplistic route by opting for an LBD-though with a few decidedly Britney twists.

I chose to call the album Glory because my son was with me through a lot of the process of recording, and he saw me coming home every night and he’d play the songs, and it was his idea. Fortunately for G-Eazy, this interaction was overlooked to a degree thanks to Drake, who was also friend zoned by fellow hip-hop star Rihanna after delivering her the Vanguard Award. Spears needed only to seem present, which she does – she’s vivid and playful and sexy throughout, like a long-fuzzy radio station finally coming in clearly. She tries having an interesting narrative on “Just Like Me”, telling the story of her ex falling for a girl like Britney, but Britney and “interesting narrative” doesn’t go together well.

The singer, 34, showed off her increasingly lithe physique in a thigh-skimming semi-sheer dress while purchasing an ice-cream cone from a local vendor.

Britney Spears is no stranger to onstage kisses at the MTV Video Music Awards. The two proved to have chemistry, with Britney showing she’s still got moves on the dance floor and G-Eazy keeping the energy high throughout.

Perhaps it is. This is Spears’ first album since 2013’s “Britney Jean”, which had the lowest sales figures of any of her albums. She’ll perform at the MTV Music Video Awards for the first time since 2007 in a highly anticipated return. He’s got a lot of swag, he’s got the whole cool thing going on. I think Steven Tyler’s a rock legend and he just means so much to me. “Invitation” extends the come-on of her Britflix-and-chill single “Do You Wanna Come Over?” as she explores some mild kink.
