Britney Spears, in full-on promotion mode for her new album Glory, was the latest participant in James Corden’s trademark Late Late Show bit, Carpool Karaoke. For the latter, Corden actually donned Brit Brit’s infamous school girl uniform and pigtails from the single’s music video – and it was wonderful!
Spears jammed out to her original hits.. “I don’t know. I think it’s just a song”, she replied.
From singing “Oops!.I Did It Again” to “Toxic” to a special sequence of “Baby One More Time”, their chemistry was on fire during the vehicle ride.
Guess Kevin Federline (and that quickie marriage to Jason Alexander) really turned her off for good. “I want to have more, like three”. “I met him probably three years ago”, she said.
As they drove, Corden asked Spears to describe the ideal guy she’s looking to marry, but she made it abundantly clear that tying the knot isn’t something she sees happening ever again.
Lead single “Make Me.”, featuring rapper G-Eazy, is a slick, sexy tune that showcases a stronger side of Spears, as does “Slumber Party”, “Love Me Down”, “Just Luv” and album opener “Invitation”. They say that instead of doing bondage and hurting yourself, men get off on being tickled for a very long time.
Corden has proven time and again that he can hold his own against some of music’s most venerable stars.
The 12-track groovy set is much better than “Britney Jean” and brighter than 2011’s “Femme Fatale”.
