In a clip provided by Entertainment Weekly, the 32-year-old belts out Popular from the Broadway musical Wicked – and he gives the OG Glinda Kristin Chenoweth a run for her money!

Ch-ch-check out the powerful performance (below)! “When the people who are going to be watching it know it so well, there’s some responsibility to put forward what they’re familiar with – but at the same time, it’s our job to make it our own”.

This star studded cast continues with former Dancing With The Stars pro Julianne Hough taking on the infamous role of Sandy, and High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens playing the role of badass Rizzo.

GREASE: LIVE (wt) is based on the original musical “Grease” by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, and Paramount Pictures’ 1978 feature adaptation.

Sure, they’re having six days a week of intense rehearsals for their live production of the iconic musical, but they’ve also found time for some hardcore bonding, the women of the cast dish to E! Some stars will also be wearing layers of outfits on top of each other for what Long calls “magical transformations that were not in the Broadway musical and were not in the film either”.

Over the years, Pearl and Conn have become the keepers of the “Grease” flame, organizing reunions and protecting the actors’ copyright.

The final song during the ride, fittingly, was Jessie J’s new take on “Grease Is the Word” from Grease: Live. “They had me just come in and meet with the director [Thomas Kail]”.

It certainly helps that Tveit has been gearing up for this very role since high school, too.

“Grease: Live” will be on Fox on January 31st between 7 and 10 pm.

“When we first got together to do the photo shoot, I remember thinking, ‘Are we actually doing this?'” Hudgens said.
