Brock Lesnar Defeats Mark Hunt by Unanimous Decision at UFC 200

Brazilian Amanda Nunes rocked Miesha Tate with several first-round punches, bloodying Tate’s nose and ultimately grabbing a wilting Tate on the mat and applying a rear naked chokehold to win the women’s bantamweight championship Saturday night at UFC 200 at T-Mobile Arena. Cormier still remains on the PPV main card, but will instead compete in a three-round non-title match against former Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.

The main event going into this week was Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones in a light heavyweight title unification bout.

While Brazil’s Nunes shocked Tate in the main event, the hulking Lesnar (6-3) was the greatest curiosity on the card.

Not only did she lose her hardware, but she also lost her spot at the top of the division, one that was held captive by her biggest rival – the aforementioned Rousey – for so long.

He was also reportedly paid a lot of money to take part in UFC 200. “For years I’ve been working hard for this moment”. Miesha Tate entered the Octagon as a big favorite over Amanda Nunes, hoping to take her out quickly to set up rematches with Ronda Rousey or Holly Holm.

That’s surprising, as we’ve seen Tate be able to manage bouts like this in the past but it was as though she had no idea what was coming at her when Nunes came flying over the mental handles at her. The move was controversial because of Lesnar bypassing the full drug testing process, but it’s admirable when looking at Brock’s heart and the potential it opens for future WWE/UFC crossover fights. “She helps me every day … and I love her”.

In the heavyweight category, Brock Lesnar beat Mark Hunt also by unanimous decision.

Brock Lesnar has been enjoying his return to the UFC ahead of this weekend’s big bout against Mark Hunt.

Should Lesnar get knocked out by Hunt having Orton there to start an angle might take some of the sting out of a loss by the former WWE champ. “I think it’s fantastic the UFC has given women the opportunity to have a strong presence on this card”. Aldo has better all-round game but if Edgar can break through his strong defence and get the fight to canvas, he will fancy his chances of extending his run.

The women’s 135-pound division has been full of twists and turns over the a year ago. The UFC, which does not discloses all of its bonuses, likely will give him a cut of the lucrative pay-per-view revenue.

It looks as though the 38-year-old made a good decision to return, picking up a win over top-10 heavyweight Hunt in the co-main event at UFC 200.
