Per MMA Fighting, Lesnar said, “Dana (White) didn’t pick up the phone because (the UFC needed) to fill a spot”.

However, as time passed Lesnar’s desire to fight again heightened, but he felt he was in a constant battle with his body. This is a brilliant move for both Lesnar personally and both the UFC and WWE.

During an interview Monday with ESPN’s Hannah Storm, Lesnar announced he’ll face Mark Hunt at the July 9 pay-per-view in Las Vegas.

Brock Lesnar’s opponent at UFC 200 has been revealed.

Hunt is a very unsafe fighter to face Lesnar in his return, especially considering his vicious brand of one-punch knockout power. Prior to that contest, Lesnar lost the UFC heavyweight championship to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 in October 2010, succumbing to punches from the American Kickboxing Academy fighter in the first round. The UFC signed Lesnar despite a 1-0 professional record. I’m sitting here today, I feel 1000 percent. Lesnar went on and said he’s a grappler at heart, Hunt is a hard-hitter, and he believes they match-up very well. I thought if I was in the WWE, I could still have these feelings in the ring, but the true competitor inside of me is still alive and well.

It should be pretty interesting to see what the Beast Incarnate will be able to do on his return to the Octagon and then what role he will play at SummerSlam with WWE just a month later.

“I couldn’t live with my decision”.
