Following an exciting prime time game against the New England Patriots on Sunday Night the Denver Broncos are coming off their biggest win of the season. San Diego didn’t put up much of a fight on Sunday afternoon as Brock Osweiler and the Broncos traveled out west and took down the Charges relatively easily. He was able to create a quick connection with Demaryius Thomas, but he also threw an interception in the end zone on a pass that was badly underthrown.
Denver’s other touchdown happened to be a pick-six by Danny Trevathan which extended the leader and the Broncos never looked back.
Those predicting the Denver Broncos’ demise when Peyton Manning got hurt are having second thoughts. The Broncos’ No. 1 receiver was asked following the Broncos’ win here Sunday which of the two quarterbacks he prefers to catch passes from. He dropped five in what was the worst performance of his stellar six-year career. Brock Osweiler completed 23 of 42 passes for 270 yards and one touchdown against one interception.
With San Diego needing to do something, Philip Rivers guided the Chargers again but only to be shut down by the Denver Broncos defense and this time had to settle for a 51 yard field goal.
Rivers was sacked four times and the Chargers failed to score a touchdown for the second game in a row.
San Diego (3-8) has fallen apart this season thanks in part to a litany of key injuries.
For the awful Chargers (3-9), the loss was their fifth straight home defeat and fifth in a row against the AFC West. Quarterback Philip Rivers said, “It’s a defensive coordinator (Wade Phillips) I have a great deal of respect for, and it’s a defense that’s really good”.
And head coach Mike McCoy, former Denver offensive coordinator, will have told his team that heads will roll if the effort against his former employer is not obvious to all. That doesn’t mean Osweiler won’t get some yards passing, but this could be the game where both Ronnie Hillman and C.J.
“It was a tough one”, said Thomas.
“We’ve gotten used to it, unfortunately, and us not winning doesn’t help”, said a resigned Rivers.

“We haven’t even played our best yet”, Harris said. Because they can cover their foes man-to-man and be left on islands, the safeties and linebackers have more freedom to attack. “If we can do that more often, it will be big for our offense”. Third stringer Juwan Thompson saw time at running back, and wide receiver Andre Caldwell turned a toss sweep into a second-quarter first down. “The locker room couldn’t have been more jubilant after the game, and yet you’ve got a player over there who is down because he doesn’t feel good about how he played”, Gary Kubiak said. CB Brandon Flower exited with a first-quarter knee injury….
