Broncos-Bengals featuring C.J. Anderson, DeMaryius Thomas. A.J. Green, more

Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian (13) walks the field after an NFL football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, in Cincinnati.

And the Bengals are officially off to a bad start. With the Bengals losing the battle in the trenches through two weeks – 31st in the National Football League in rushing yards and last in rushing yards allowed – it’s hard for me to pick against the Broncos here.

With touchdown passes of 46 and 55 yards, Siemian answered any lingering questions about his ability to go deep.

It was a tough start to the game for the Broncos’ offense, which was quickly off the field on their first drive of the game, then failed to put the ball in the end zone on a 14-play drive after Jeremy Hill’s touchdown broke open the scoring in the game.

Four touchdown passes, more than 300 yards passing, two clutch touchdown drives in the fourth quarter. The Bengals will continue to ride the running game against the Broncos elite secondary, because while they’ve carried the rock 17 times, they’ve thrown it just eight times.

“I’m still learning a lot”, Siemian said. Shane Ray sacked Dalton on back-to-back plays and Cincinnati eventually punted, giving the Broncos the ball back on their own 20-yard-line. Last week in Pittsburgh, Dalton threw a career-high 54 times; not a winnable formula for the Bengals based on the last five seasons.

“I’ve been 2-5 and made the playoffs”, left tackle Andrew Whitworth said.

The Jets are in the late afternoon timeslot today so we have a wait to watch the game we really care about.

After Denver’s Pro Bowl receiving duo – Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders – took to the media earlier in the week to decry their lack of statistical production and inefficiency in the redzone, head coach Gary Kubiak heeded their call.

There were the almost-plays, a dropped interception by Shawn Williams and a would-be pick that seemed to be floating toward Rey Maualuga before Vincent Rey, also intending to get the interception, deflected the ball as he accidentally ran into his teammate.

Ultimately, the battle-tested Broncos did what they were supposed to do.

These are just as much highlights for the Broncos’ stud receivers as they are for Siemian, but look at the two clutch touchdown throws each coming on third down.

Said Dalton, “There’s no time to think about this one, you’ve got to move on”. Hill had more yards on that series than he did in the first two games combined (53), and the Bengals continued to pound away at the Broncos throughout the first half, racking up 104 yards on 17 carries before a half-ending kneeldown.

Odds: The Bengals are now a -3 favorite, according to Bovada.

Without having to respect the run, Miller will need only to pin his ears back and go after Dalton – arguably his greatest strength.
