Broncos DE Derek Wolfe suspended 4 games

Bronco’s defensive end Derek Wolfe has been handed a four game suspension for testing positive for PEDs.

Specifically, Wolfe stated the violation occurred when he took medicine this low season that’s on the league’s banned substance record.

“I genuinely was unaware that it was prohibited, but players are responsible for what is in their bodies”, Wolfe said. I’ll definitely train far larger warning sooner or later and can search recommendation referring to the permissibility of any and all drugs. Price went through the NFLPA to release the statement and is still eligible to practice with the team and play in preseason games.

The fourth-year pass rusher will miss the Broncos’ season-opener against the Ravens and games against the Chiefs, Lions and Vikings.

Losing one of their starting defensive ends is a big blow to a defense that’s already dealing with big question marks at middle linebacker – the fulcrum of Wade Phillips’ 3-4 scheme – as Danny Trevathan (knee) and Brandon Marshall (foot) are returning from surgeries.

He was a shell of himself, however, after missing a good chunk of the 2013 season, which was marked by a seizure on the team bus.

Noted for his motor and work ethic, Wolfe offered an apology as part of his statement regarding this suspension. While his numbers (1.5 sacks, 35 total tackles) don’t jump off the page, he was especially dominant against the running game.

“I’m very disappointed that I can’t help my team for the first four weeks of the season, but I look forward to a great season with the Broncos and can’t wait to get back on the field in week five”.
