Broncos hold on to beat Vikings in defensive struggle

The two running backs are considered 1A and 1B by the Broncos and they should both be in the mix next week when the team takes on the Raiders in a divisional game. They are similar to Denver in applying pressure to passers with seven sacks and 46 hurries over the three games (Denver has 11 sacks and 50 hurries). He even exhibited a few of that arm strength of old, such as when he connected with Emmanuel Sanders for a 34-yard completion on Denver’s final drive of the game. Once they fell behind in their week 1 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, the Vikings were forced to abandon the run game and make Teddy Bridgewater save the day.

Miami (+11⁄2) over New York Jets at London – The Jets came back to earth last week against Philly, and now get to play in London.

“We rehearsed the situation [Saturday] at the practice field”, said Broncos coach Gary Kubiak.

And if it’s not Miller, Turner said, it’s probably DeMarcus Ware on the other side of the field. The receiving stats did look better against the Chargers, as Mike Wallace came in as the top receiver with 49 yards on three receptions, followed by Jarius Wright (28 yards) and then Adam Thielen (16 yards), but there were still no deep catches. But the Broncos (4-0) retook the lead on a 33-yard field goal with 1:51 left on the clock.

This game was a litmus test, as the Fox broadcast called it, of where the Vikings are in relation to the rest of National Football League teams. Both of Stafford’s interceptions came on fine plays by Denver DBs. The key play was a 72-yard touchdown run by Ronnie Hillman early in the quarter for a 10-0 lead.

“They ran a couple of blitzes there that we had not seen”, Zimmer said.

The Vikings will spend Monday and Tuesday at Winter Park before breaking for the bye week.

It’s fantastic what a mistake can lead to: Blair Walsh missed a chance to tie up the game early in the first half with a 38-yard field goal.

“We’ve known how capable we are and to be able to execute finally is just a big relief”, Harris said. I thought we had to get used to the speed of their defense. In Denver, the sacks are being spread around in what is becoming an exceptional pass rush. Manning was 17 of 27 for 213 yards.

Giants 24, Bills 10: Rashad Jennings broke three tackles to score on a 51-yard touchdown catch midway through the fourth quarter for New York in its victory over Buffalo.

Travis Coons booted his fourth field goal, this one from 40 yards, to slice the Browns’ deficit to 20-19 with 10 minutes to play.

St. Louis running back Todd Gurley rushed for 146 yards on 19 carries, which included a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter that set up the Rams’ game-clinching touchdown. “It just opened up”. By the time he saw Ward, it was way too late and the ball was in the hands of Miller. The Bengals (4-0) matched the third-best start in franchise history, two wins shy of the club record.

Rivers was sacked four times and hit another 12 times in an embarrassing loss to the Vikings. Still, there are plenty of areas in need of improvement, which Zimmer and his staff will focus on moving forward. But, we know one thing for sure, this game is going to be fun to watch. “At the same time, we got a lot of receivers that’s ready to step up”.

Whether it is with a game-saving interception against the Baltimore Ravens in week 1, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in week 2 or a game-sealing pick by David Burton Jr. against the Detroit Lions this past Sunday, the defense has an uncanny ability to create turnovers.
