Broncos’ Justin Hodges could miss grand final over tackle
But Darius Boyd, who was pushing up to close off an option he never thought Kenny-Dowall would actually use, was able read the arc of the pass, switched on his afterburners, intercepted the ball and ran away to score under the posts.

MASTER coach Wayne Bennett has displayed unusual public confidence in Brisbane’s chances of advancing to Sunday week’s NRL grand final with a victory over the Roosters at a packed Suncorp Stadium tonight.
Hodges is at risk of missing the decider after being offered a grade one risky throw in the preliminary final.
“Before halftime I went in, got a needle, and that helped me get back on the field”, he said.
Bennett reportedly walked into Brisbane’s dressing room after the loss to the Roosters last month and told each of his players how proud he was of their performances.
Hodges said on Sunday he was confident of beating the charge.
He has finally led the Cowboys into the grand final.
Pearce spent the second half on the sidelines with his leg on ice.
The Roosters recovered to trail by eight at halftime and then came Kenny-Dowall’s moment for redemption.
The Broncos, who won the last of their six premierships in 2006, completely overran the Roosters at Lang Park, scoring six tries to two.
“You have to soak this up, enjoy it and feed off it because grand final week is something special”.

The forwards will do the hard work and the playmakers, like the Cowboys Johnathan Thurston and Brisbane’s Ben Hunt, will set up the tries in the all Queensland grand final but the outcome could depend on the forced, insane economics of the salary cap, exemplified by O’Neill whose $440,000 a year contract is half funded by the Storm.
