Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was “near tears” in the team meeting Saturday night before Super Bowl 50.

Super Bowl 50 is over, and the Denver Broncos will be taking home the Lombardi Trophy after beating the Carolina Panthers by a final score of 24-10.
“The victory in the AFC Championship Game was a great example of what this entire season has been like”, Manning said.
Cam Newton started scrambling and led the Carolina Panthers on a scoring drive to cut Denver’s lead to 10-7.

The Panthers went nowhere on their first series, then their defense forced a three-and-out. That would bring the first half to an end. The first fumble came with 6:27 in the first quarter, when DeMarcus Ware and Miller rushed Newton deep in his own zone, the ball squirted free, and defensive end Malik Jackson pounced on it in the end zone, the game’s opening touchdown.
Miller spied on Newton at times, and Newton noticed. Anderson ripped off a 34-yard carry on their second play after the fumble to move the Broncos to the Carolina 26… “And we stepped up big since Week 1 and then we never looked back”. It was a odd runback, too.
Before he fielded the punt from Carolina’s Brad Nortman, Broncos wide receiver Jordan Norwood was grabbed on the left hip and shoulder by Panthers special teamer Colin Jones. Escorted by a bevy of blockers, he appeared headed for a TD until defensive end Mario Addison chased him down at the Carolina 14, a 61-yard jaunt.
Later in the quarter, Carolina was moving the ball down the field, but Mike Tolbert fumbled the ball.
As Manning stepped onto the field for warmups fans reached for their cameras to record what could be the future Hall of Famer’s last National Football League appearance. And the lead was only six at halftime.
Newton showed glimpses of his dual threat with a couple of long rushes to set up a one-yard touchdown run from Jonathan Stewart to help make it 10-7 after Graham Gano added the extra point. Safety Darian Stewart made the hit, and linebacker Danny Trevathan had the recovery at the Denver 40…
