Broncos LB Brandon Marshall Joins Colin Kaepernick, Kneels for National Anthem
So far, we haven’t seen any Colts player take a knee during the national anthem, and I doubt we will this Sunday on 9/11 either.

“Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) has ended our partnership”, president and CEP Glenn Strebe said in a statement.
Marshall and Kaepernick were college teammates in Nevada, according to the NFL. With these strong ties to the US military, the credit union said in a statement on Friday that Marshall’s move not to stand for the national anthem went against what it stands for.
“Absolutely they were worth the consequences”, Marshall said Friday, in reaction to the AAFCU statement.
San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick began the protests against injustice and police brutality when he refused to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” during preseason games, at first choosing to sit on the bench and then later kneeling on one knee in a gesture that has divided fans.
“I’m a man of faith, so I prayed about it long and hard, and I felt like that was the right thing to do”. Members of a California police union said the 49er’s actions had “threatened the harmonious relationship” between players and police, while many veterans showed their support, spreading the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick after the player was accused of disrespecting the military.
“And I won’t just take knees, and that’s why I chose to donate an undisclosed amount to different programs that support the vets, ’cause, you know, it’s tough for them in this country”.
Marshall briefly left Thursday’s game in the second quarter to be evaluated for a concussion but was cleared to return. People calling me the N-word and a lot of people calling me all kinds of derogatory terms.
Marshall was protesting against perceived civil injustices in American society and while the National Football League has not taken a stand against such protests one of Marshall’s sponsors has been quick to react. “At the end of the day, I’m definitely good with my decision”.
“Brandon is a great kid”. He told me to believe in my values and those types of things in life, and obviously I believe in our country and the national anthem very strongly.

Four Miami Dolphins players, Arian Foster, Jelani Jenkins, Michael Thomas, and Kenny Stills, knelt while the national anthem was played at their season opener against the Seahawks. But I don’t babysit guys.
