Santa Clara police appear to be reversing field after a threatened boycott of Levi’s Stadium to protest Colin Kaepernick’s protest, according to an NBC Bay Area report.

“So when we have an opinion and we speak it, I feel like a lot of people bash us for what we have to say”, Marshall said, NFL.com reported.

Colin Kaepernick’s recent decision to not stand for the national anthem has sparked commentary from supporters to opposers.

Marshall, who will turn 27 on Saturday, attended the University of Nevada with Kaepernick. “That freedom comes at a price and I think the important thing that is often lost and maybe recently is lost is that the military is not just the military; they are fathers, they are mothers, they are sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, so there is a face to them and they need to be respected and they need to be appreciated”. Kaepernick is refusing to stand during the anthem in protest of police brutality and oppression of minorities in America.

York said the team is excited to work with the two foundations to develop a plan to help “find unifying solutions to these pressing issues”.
