Broncos name Peyton Manning as starter

When Peyton Manning went down with a torn plantar fascia in the Denver Broncos’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on November 15, he was replaced by a promising young backup Brock Osweiler.

Manning did not play well during the regular season, despite having a 7-2 record as a starter.

“Look, I’d be lying to say I’ve never thought of it”, Manning said.

While in seasons past Peyton has been able to overcome the physical limitations including recovery from neck surgery, Manning’s retirement could be imminent based on his difficulty in leading the Broncos this year.

A lucky ninth-grader in Utah will be going to the biggest football game of the year thanks to his spot-on impersonation of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning threw for 69 yards on 5-9 passing. However, Manning has not been the player during this season, at the age of 39. He’s thrown nine touchdown passes and 17 interceptions.

Manning is trying to become the oldest quarterback to win a Super Bowl and the first to lead two teams to a ticker tape parade.

Sure, it’s not all Manning’s fault, just like Tom Brady doesn’t deserve all the credit for the Patriots’ Super Bowl wins. Kubiak said Osweiler also will not practice Friday, but he has a chance to get back out there Saturday. He did return to Berea, Ohio, on Monday and was in attendance for team meetings when Haslam addressed the players following the firings of coach Mike Pettine and general manager Ray Farmer.

The Denver Broncos managed to end their 2015 campaign on a good note despite some of their struggles staying healthy.

As Manning took the field inside the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse on his first day back after being named the starter, Brock Osweiler was nowhere to be found – citing a knee injury. His superior recognition and line calls helped the Broncos gain a season-best 210 yards rushing.

“Just picking it up and taking it to another level you know the speed of the game picks up for everybody and I need to make sure I can compete at a high-level”, Shane Ray, rookie linebacker, said. Monachino will be charged with turning around an aging defense that has performed well below average in recent years and Pagano thinks his experience in Baltimore makes him the right man for the job. If the Broncos don’t want him, the Montana kid just put together one hell of a resume tape and would be a highly sought after product by a number of teams whose QB situation’s are more dire than Denver’s. If things start to go haywire, the team has confidence it can turn to Osweiler and find success.
