“I think I’ve continued to tell you guys that [Lynch] is behind the others from a knowledge standpoint as far as running the group”, Kubiak said (via Mike Klis of 9 News) Obviously, we need to keep coming, keep bringing him along. When asked whether he envisioned a scenario in which all three of the quarterbacks would be forced to play in that game, Kubiak said “I don’t envision that”, which suggests that whoever is named the starter for the season likely would sit that one out. Like I said from day one, I’m confident that I [can] make the best of this opportunity.

It’s not Siemian’s physical ability or abilities as a quarterback that worry me about him starting in a regular season game – it’s his response to the pick-six he threw against the 49ers.
BRONCOS MULL LYNCH? Broncos first-round QB Paxton Lynch might be in line to start opening day because of the lackluster training camp production of Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian, USA Today reported.
Sanchez has yet to perform at high enough level to distance himself from Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch in the Broncos quarterback competition. Last season in Philadelphia, Sanchez completed 59-of-91 passes, for 616 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions.
“I foresee myself trying to find a way to fix some mistakes”, Kubiak said. Obviously he has one play he’d like to have back, or it would have been as good as it could be. “I try to take advantage, especially this week, going against a great team in Denver”.
Kaepernick, who hasn’t practiced since August 10 with a “tired” right shoulder, was not expected to play in the game. He said the sore shoulder shouldn’t prevent him from practicing Tuesday or playing Saturday. A 49ers fumble later, and Sanchez had all the opportunity for redemption, to put a stranglehold on the job that wasn’t supposed to be this competitive. He was 10 of 17 for 120 yards and was almost picked off by cornerback Chris Davis. Many speculate that Lynch might get a taste of the starting gig if both Sanchez and Siemian continue to struggle. “No excuse for that”.
So, it looks like the Broncos’ quarterback battle is between two players that have never thrown an National Football League pass. Denver was hoping to avoid the uncertainty that persisted previous year between Manning and Osweiler.
Manning was named the starter for the post-season and led the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory behind a dominant defence.
We should look at what the three have done in two preseason games.
Kubiak also added Monday that he had planned for the possibility that the competition behind center could go this deep into the preseason.
“We’ll see how it goes once he starts throwing”, Kelly said in a conference call.
The Broncos also got stronger on defence with the return of linebacker DeMarcus Ware. “I don’t think next week is so big on them, I think the pressure is more on the O-line, tight ends, running backs and receivers to do our job the way we know we can do it to make their job easier”.
