Broncos GM John Elway says that they’re going to give quarterback Peyton Manning “as much time as he needs” when it comes to making a decision as to whether or not he’ll come back next season. Manning said at the time it was a prank intended for another athlete.

Elway also said he’ll look into restructuring the contracts of veterans DeMarcus Ware and Ryan Clady, who missed last season with a torn ACL and told The Associated Press he’d be willing to redo his contract to stay in Denver.
If there’s a deadline, it’s March 9, at which time Manning’s $19 million base salary for 2016 becomes guaranteed.
The Broncos know they can’t wait on Peyton Manning forever, but they’re not going to pressure the 39-year-old quarterback about his future.
Given Manning’s level of play, it would be shocking if the Broncos agreed to pay this amount and are instead more likely to release him and move forward with Osweiler or sign a free agent quarterback.
