Broncos offer Von Miller $114.5 million contract
If Miller and the Broncos can’t reach a deal by the July 15 deadline for franchise players to sign long-term contracts, he will have to play the 2016 season under a one-year franchise tender of just over $14 million.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Broncos have offered Miller a six-year, $114.5 million extension.
Miller had two sacks in the Super Bowl and 2 1/2 sacks in the AFC championship game.
Ultimately, the question likely becomes whether the Broncos will fully guarantee the year-to-year franchise-tag money that Miller would make through 2018. John Elway and company made a decision to limit Von Miller’s ability to sign with teams and cash in on his 2015 production by placing the franchise tag on him, so it is only fitting that Von Miller drags this thing out as long as he can and attempt to make every dollar possible. However, a Broncos source said Wednesday that talks have not “broken off”.
Klis reports that the Broncos and Miller agreed on the six-year, $114.5 million part but strongly disagreed on the structure of the deal, specifically the guaranteed money in the first three years. Both received deals they weren’t happy with and “threatened to sit out the season”.
Contract talks between the Denver Broncos and their star linebacker Von Miller have snagged considerably.
So while the narrative that things are “ugly” between the Broncos and Miller right now, I wouldn’t listen to the noise and worry too much. He looked good. You want all your guys here. Miller saying no to the deal despite $39.8 million of his contract being guaranteed over the first two seasons of the proposed deal from the Denver front office.
Kubiak said Talib, who was forced to miss the Super Bowl champs’ visit to the White House on Monday, will have to stay in Denver to rehab at the Broncos’ facilities when the rest of his teammates scatter for summer vacation next week. It just does not seem plausible for the Broncos to allow Miller to walk away; however, for the deal to get done, the team will have to pony up and pay Miller $20 million a year with more guaranteed money for it to put pen to paper. “It was great to get there, but I’m looking forward to getting back there”.

“We’ve made real progress over the last couple of days”, Miller said. Miller is an incredible player in all facets of defense, but he has had off-field issues previously (a suspension) and he also tore his ACL.
