Broncos QBs: Siemian in lead, but here comes Lynch
Buy a few more Paxton Lynch shares.

It all was in Mark Sanchez’s grasp Saturday night, and twice he let it slip through his fingers. Rookie running back Devontae Booker had just moved before the snap to bring about second-and-16 at the Broncos’ 35 when Siemian threw a pass in the right flat intended for Demaryius Thomas.
“I just can’t turn the ball over”, Siemian, a Northwestern product, said via ESPN.
“It’s important for him to be with the ones”, coach Hue Jackson said.
But I do know that Lynch has put himself into the equation. I look at myself. You try to keep your quarterback in the best position possible. Things did not seem almost as grim as I had originally thought.
If the display was supposed to demonstrate to Kelly that he is ready to get his chance to get the team off to one of those fast starts the coach wants, it worked. We all take responsibility for it. Actually, he should have thrown the ball away instead of into an obvious interception.
The biggest knock on Gabbert after he replaced an injured Kaepernick as the 49ers’ starting quarterback last season was his inability to keep drives alive on third down. But his penchant for turnovers has made this a competition. “That’s really too bad”. He was competing against rookie Paxton Lynch and the team’s 2015 seventh-round pick Trevor Siemian.
We should look at what the three have done in two preseason games.
Lynch threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s preseason game against the 49ers.
“He did some really good stuff tonight, ” Kubiak said of Lynch. “I was just focused on my guys and doing what I had to do to lead us down the field and score every time”. USATSI “I’m going to play the guy that I think is best for our team”.
In the second quarter Saturday night, in a game that somehow made the Broncos’ raging quarterback battle even more murky, Siemian stepped from the bench to the sideline next to Gary Kubiak.
The Denver Broncos proved there are more questions than once thought here in the Mile High City. Maybe, give Sanchez a couple series in between.
Eventually, Kubiak will have to pick the quarterback that he thinks is good enough to lead the offense in a Week One rematch against the Panthers. I am sure he didn’t mean much out of the answer, but it was just the wrong choice of words.
But I’m not Kubiak.
We do know this is hardly ideal.
Siemian was handed the keys to the Ferrari earlier this week when he was named the starter for the Broncos second preseason game. But over the past five-and-a-half years, hasn’t it always seemed to work out for John Elway, the general manager who builds the Broncos’ roster? The real story line is the developments in the Broncos’ competition to replace quarterback Peyton Manning.

So what will Kubiak do about his quarterback dilemma this week? “I’m going to take it a day at a time. That’s where I’m going right now”.
