Broncos rally to beat Bengals in OT
The New England Patriots have a first round bye no mater what happens, however, there is still work to be done to get the number one seed.

Last night Brock Osweiler achieved the latter, leading the Denver Broncos to a 20-17 comeback victory in overtime over the Cincinnati Bengals that sealed a berth in the playoffs and arguably saved the season. A snap that McCarron took his eyes off at just the wrong split second slipped through his hands and fell to the turf for a fumble that Broncos defensive end DeMarcus Ware recovered.
Protect the football, manage the game and make big plays when the team needs it most, three things that Brock Osweiler has shown the capability to do and three things that could spell a recipe for success for the Broncos in the playoffs.
After winning the coin toss, Osweiler led the Broncos on yet another drive to set up a McManus field goal.
Standouts: With a touchdown from running back Donald Brown on the Chargers’ opening drive after the defense intercepted QB Derek Carr, the Chargers jumped out to an early lead.
The Broncos are in, and with a victory in the season finale against San Diego on Sunday they would secure their fifth consecutive AFC West title.
“We wanted to put ourselves in the playoffs, and we still control things we want to control moving on to San Diego, moving on to the future and how we want to be seeded within these playoffs”, Anderson said.
“It’s my fault. I told the guys that”, McCarron said. “I looked up to see the coverage and the snap caught me by surprise”. Allen is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry, but he has proven to be a dual threat, though, catching 31 passes and two touchdowns out of the backfield. “It was a hard-fought game. I didn’t know how bad”, he said. Trailing 20-17 following a Denver field goal, McCarron took a snap from the shotgun on his own 32. “We had runs in the first half; they came back in the second half and had a little better run than us”.
Dr. Dale Guyer, who started The Guyer Institute, said the allegations against the Denver Broncos quarterback are untrue. Anderson averaged 8 yards per carry on nine rushing attempts, and he scored on a 39-yard touchdown gallop.
Key Play: Facing an enviable second and 2 near midfield with a chance to add to their 14-10 lead in the final minute of the third quarter, Jeremy Hill was stuffed for no gain and the Bengals ended up punting to squander their best starting field position of the night. Most of the time, this fade has been in the second half, except for the two biggest games, against the Patriots and Bengals. He avoided traffic. He dodged defensive tackle Wallace Gilberry, outran safety Reggie Nelson, veered past Adam Jones and stepped through linebacker Rey Maualuga’s ankle tackle.
However, the Broncos’ defense again forced a punt.
McCarron had driven the Bengals on two long first-half drives, covering 80 and 90 yards and eating up a total of 16:24 to put Cincinnati ahead 14-0. It sailed wide left missing the protective netting to the astonishment of 74,511 fans even though the flags atop the goal posts revealed a complete lack of wind.
“We felt like we got some stuff going at the end of the half doing that up-tempo stuff”, said tight end Owen Daniels.
McCarron was making just his second start since Dalton injured his thumb trying to make a tackle.

NOTES: TE Tyler Eifert (concussion) was among the Bengals’ inactive players.
