Broncos reportedly ‘are in’ on acquiring Sam Bradford from the Eagles

It’s assumed the Eagles will use the pick to select a quarterback – either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz.

As of early Thursday afternoon, it did not appear particularly promising a deal involving either Bradford or Kaepernick was near completion, but things can change quickly during the draft and a number of National Football League teams, including the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, have unsettled starting-quarterback situations.

Last season, the Eagles traded quarterback Nick Foles to the Rams for the 2010 No. 1 overall draft pick, Sam Bradford.

Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Broncos called the Eagles for a very basic discussion about Bradford. “I think we finally have someone we can build our franchise around and make a push for the playoffs”, said another Eagles fan.

Schefter reported earlier in the week that Bradford requested a trade after the Eagles made the trade with the Cleveland Browns to move up in the draft.

According to SB Nation, there are three teams interested in the services of the 2010 first overall pick.

But it looks like Denver will not be Bradford’s new home, and the Broncos’ search for a top quarterback will continue. The first team is the Denver Broncos that recently lost Peyton Manning to retirement and Brock Osweiler in free agency. Any potent deal failed to materialize since Philly was reportedly asking too much for the 28-year-old player. Whether Bradford likes it or not, he’s teammates with Wentz.

Bradford signed a two-year extension in March, worth a guaranteed $22 million, with $18 million of that guaranteed this season.

The quarterbacks now on the Broncos’ roster are veteran Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian, who is in his second season.
