Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will miss at least the next two weeks as he continues his recovery from a plantar fascia tear the Denver Broncos announced Tuesday night.

Manning, 39, was in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday for a second opinion on his foot and it was recommended that the 18-year National Football League veteran spend at least the next week in a walking cast.
Asked whether the expectation is that Manning will be back at some point, Kubiak said: “Absolutely”. The Broncos offense looked much better than it has in recent weeks with Osweiler starting and Kubiak will have a major decision to make if the Broncos keep winning.
It apparently just wasn’t working out this year health-wise, and if he needs time off to rehab, then so be it.
Manning’s meltdown against the Chiefs can now be easily explained by his foot injury, along with an injured shoulder and ribs.
Ponder said he got the call to come work out for Broncos while he was shopping for groceries for Thanksgiving.
“There’s nobody that has more respect for Peyton than me outside of probably his parents and his brothers”, Brady said. “I just want him to get healthy and do whatever he can to do that”. Brock Osweiler completed 20 of 27 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Broncos. Ponder has a lifetime completion percentage of 59.8 and has passed for 6,658 yards, 38 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in 38 games (36 starts). Osweiler said he hasn’t spoken with Manning about his injury or the timeline for his return. Four Super Bowl rings for Brady put him in rarified air and in the discussion for the greatest of all time. We had a good, long conversation. “I visit with this guy on a regular basis and we talk all the time”. Going through stuff like this is aggravating for anybody, but his frame of mind is as good as it can be. “We’ll play great defense”. ESPN’s Jeff Legwold had this nugget about what Osweiler faces: “According to ESPN Stats & Information research, since the start of the 2001 season – the start of the Belichick-Tom Brady era, quarterbacks are a combined 23-79 (.225) in their first career starts against the Patriots”.

“I’ve got to get my big feet out of the way”, Osweiler said. I would not disrupt it. Listen, this kid and this offensive line, it may be a blessing, because they have not protected him very well.
