Broncos say Aqib Talib suffered minor gunshot wound

The three-time Pro Bowler will miss the rest of the team’s offseason practices, however.

A bullet to the right leg put Talib in the hospital, in style of course, with reports he rolled up in a Rolls Royce.

Though the gunshot wound itself was minor, this latest incident could result in severe punishment for 30-year-old Aqib Talib. According to WFAA’s account of the police report, Talib told officers he was shot while at a Dallas-area park but that he “was too intoxicated to remember what happened”. The team is scheduled to visit the White House tomorrow, however, Talib will not be joining them.

Sunday night, Dallas police posted online the few details they had about two reported shootings.

Now I believe this will be Talib’s final season in Denver.

When I was playing in the National Football League my coach Tony Dungy always said “Nothing good happens after 12am” Someone should’ve told Aqib Talib this.

The second person, whose name has not been released, was also reported as being taken to the hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries”.

“Talib was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2011 after he and his mother were accused of shooting at his sister”™s boyfriend during a domestic dispute in Garland.

This shooting incident comes one day before Talib and the Broncos head to Washington D.C.to meet President Barack Obama and celebrate their victory in Super Bowl 50 earlier this year. A team PR employee tweeted Sunday that Talib was expected to recover from the gunshot wound. The NFL suspended him for the first game of the 2010 season, and he was entered into a pretrial diversion program and ordered to attend anger management classes.

That harkens to the case of former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who accidentally shot himself in the right thigh at a NY nightclub shortly after he won the Super Bowl. Not to mention in 2009, the Cleveland native was jailed on charges of simple battery and resisting arrest without violence after he allegedly punched a taxi driver in St. Petersburg, Fla.
