The Raiders, trailing 12-0 at halftime, won by holding Denver to four Brandon McManus field goals, and they shut out the Broncos in the second half.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – After consulting with the team’s medical staff and having discussions with quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler, Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak will keep Osweiler in the starting lineup this week and Manning will make his return to the practice field Wednesday. The Broncos struggled to score points with Manning at time, but that hasn’t exactly changed with Osweiler running the show.
“What a fantastic effort”, said head coach Jack Del Rio in his post-game victory speech.
In his four starts-and the second half of the game against the Chiefs-Osweiler has thrown five touchdowns and three interceptions. So, given the options, Del Rio thought there was a better chance of making the 2-pointer.
In roughly 17 quarters, Osweiler has been sacked 17 times, including once for a safety Sunday.
It could have been any number of things, but when it all comes down to it, turnovers and the lack of red zone efficiency are killing the Broncos.
“Things like that come up during the game”, Del Rio said, “and you made a snap judgment”.
The Broncos moved the ball effectively in the first half, gaining 224 yards.

Kubiak’s justification for not bringing in more help for both Ryan Harris and Schofield was because he felt it was more important for players at the skill positions to get a free release into the secondary.
