“Oh my gosh it was unbelievable how much orange”, said Osweiler, who was 16 of 26 for 166 yards as he moved to 3-0 since he took over for the injured Peyton Manning. The team moves to 3-9 on the season, and 0-3 against the AFC West, and will blame this one on the offense and injuries.

And, as has been the norm for the last several years – even more so this year – there were thousands of fans of the visiting team at aging Qualcomm Stadium, which may have hosted its penultimate Chargers game. Chargers walked away from negotiations with city, county for new stadium in mid-June….

Demaryius Thomas started to look like his old self, getting on the same page with Brock Osweiler. Osweiler helped lead the Broncos to a 30-24 overtime victory against New England last Sunday night. Since moving to Brock Osweiler under center, Denver has had more of an emphasis on the run game.

“My biggest thing in those situations, I want to know what you see”, Head Coach Gary Kubiak said. We are week to week and doing everything we can to win the next football game. The Patriots, lost, leaving the Broncos in position to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs if they win out. Philip Rivers completed 29 of 43 passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns.

Anderson has rushed for over 160 yards combined with two touchdowns in the past two games and after putting up a paltry 2.7 yards per carry before the bye week, Anderson is averaging over six yards per carry since that time. They have recorded two sacks and have really put Rivers into a lot of forced throws. “Just a bad play all the way around”. A missed field goal by Josh Lambo prevented them from keeping up with the Broncos, and a second-quarter field goal proved to be too little, too late. In the receiving end, Steve Johnson had 92 yards and one touchdown in seven receptions while Dontrelle Inman added 65 yards and one touchdown in five catches.

On the same play that Ward was hurt against New England, defensive tackle Sylvester Williams went down with an ankle injury.

Running back Melvin Gordon, the Chargers’ first-round draft pick, lost another fumble and was benched.
