Broncos want new QB Brock Osweiler to take fewer hits

Brock Osweiler was in it for the win on Sunday as he helped his team, the Denver Broncos, come from behind during a snow-filled, home game at Mile High Stadium, to win against the New England Patriots to make it a Broncos comeback win by a score of 30 to 24 in overtime.

The athletic quarterback’s ability to run bootlegs and play action has opened up Gary Kubiak’s zone-based offense, which had been modified for Manning.

“There is no immediate, quick or magic fix”, Manning said.

“I haven’t thought much more than trying to get healthy”.

“Some people try to get back”.

“I think the No. 1 thing that’s impressed me is I think he understands exactly what he needs to do for the team to be successful”, Kubiak said of Osweiler.

“But the idea is for it to help toward the healing process”.

9News had to know: Once Manning gets back healthy, and with Osweiler playing so well, would Manning be willing to accept a backup role? “We’re all in getting ready for San Diego”.

Arizona coach Bruce Arians said Monday that Johnson was hurt when he took a helmet to the knee in Sunday’s 19-13 victory at San Francisco.

“I’m not surprised at all”, receiver Andre Caldwell said. “Either you are or you aren’t”, Manning said. “Everybody says, ‘When did he say it’s going to get better?’ [He said], ‘When it heals, ‘ so some earth-shattering medical information there, ” Manning said. Manning has more rehab work to do after taking the cast off with a partially-torn plantar fascia tendon and that could keep him out until the last couple weeks of the season or the playoffs depending on how he recovers. We are week-to-week and doing everything we can to win the next football game.

It’s ironic to think that Peyton Manning’s second Super Bowl ring, one that has eluded him for so long, might come with him standing on the sidelines, yet that is the reality we are now living in.

Manning visited foot and ankle specialist Dr. Robert Anderson last week and that’s when a cast was put on his foot to immobilize it. Manning said doctors wanted to put another cast on his foot Wednesday when he asked if “there was another option, ” and he was given the walking boot instead.

Manning revealed his foot has been bothering him for much of the season, although he declined to say exactly when he first hurt it, suggesting “timelines and all that are kind of irrelevant”. He said I have an injured foot. Osweiler said. “All I know is I’m the starter this week against the Chargers”. “Absolutely nothing has changed”.
