Broncos WR Thomas deal up against deadline
While the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys are suspected of collusion with regards to the Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant contract impasses, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, neither side is making any headway in contract negotiations.

Bryant and Thomas have not signed their respective $12.8 million tenders and no one had shown any indications that they are intending to do so.
After there were some optimistic reports, such as this one from CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora, regarding Bryant’s chances of agreeing to a long-term deal with the Cowboys, we now know, thanks to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, that there is “nothing going on” between both sides.
“Sources: @DezBryant personally called Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones to say he won’t attend camp, will miss real games unless signed by Wednesday”, tweets Ed Werder.
The Denver Broncos are hoping to lock up wide receiver Demaryius Thomas with a long-term deal, but it appears they may not be able to come to terms before Wednesday’s deadline. He’s a great receiver, but he isn’t even a top five player at his position.
The other two draft picks, linebackers Lamin Barrow and Corey Nelson, are both competing just to make the roster this season and aren’t expected to get a lot of playing time.
In short, the Broncos enjoyed a troublingly small impact from their rookie class past year and while you could point to the strong veteran group that comprises the core of a talented Denver team as a reason for the limited contribution, it doesn’t paint a complete picture for the team’s thus far uninvolved youngsters.
There’s still 48 hours left until the deadline so I expect we will see a few more “reports” before it’s all set and done.

For example, if Team A offered Player A around $20 million for ten years and he accepts it, then it is possible that Player B would seek a similar contract with Team B although he might not be valued that much by the franchise.
