Brook promises to ‘shock the world’ when he fights Golovkin
“This is the biggest fight in world boxing”. Aside from the customary respect GGG shows towards his opponents – Golovkin stated again how he sees Brook as a serious test, his biggest yet, and he even said the upcoming fight “feels like a unification fight” – the middleweight king also spoke about his hopes to retire from boxing with a flawless, unbeaten record.

“There’s a fear factor and I’m going to be so sharp and alive for the night”. Gennady “GGG” Golovkin “I’m very excited and happy to be in London”.
“I’m at my natural weight at 160”. The main example that springs to mind is when in 1987 former world welterweight world champion Sugar Ray Leonard stepped up to take on the formidable Middleweight champion Marvin Hagler and pulled off a shock points win.
“It is not a big difference because he is the same size, he’s strong and I think he has a different boxing style and speed – but there isn’t a lot of difference”. “I’m excited to perform in front of the United Kingdom fans.” said Golovkin. I am not a big guy so it is very close for us.
“Of course I’ve got fear”. Many believe Brook will be undersized by the middleweight king who knocked out his last 22 opponents. “Kell’s coming to the middleweight division”.
Martin J. Ward and Andy Townend clash for the vacant British Super-Featherweight title and Conor Benn tastes his fourth night of action in the paid ranks, with more fights to be added soon.
Many fear the contest will end up in the same manner as the May showdown between Amir Khan and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
At 35-0 (32) now, the 34-year-old, who fights on average three times a year, could not only retire unbeaten, he could also conceivably break the immortal Rocky Marciano’s treasured 49-0 record.
Dominic Ingle – Brook’s trainer: We’ve had a great camp in Spain. How much furore would there be if Triple-G got to 48-0 or 49-0 – or, dare we say it, 50-0! By fight night, enough fans will have been whipped into a frenzy by a keen marketing approach so that any common sense objections to the pairing will come off as “hating”.
