Hamilton County deputies took Karnauch into custody locally for being a fugitive from New York.
When a tourist snapped an illegal selfie on the Brooklyn Bridge, little did he know he was actually prepping for his mug shot.
He was wanted for reckless endangerment in the 2nd degree. However, he hasn’t uploaded any additional photos of aerial selfie stunts (an apparent pastime of his) in the weeks since.
In the photo, he is seen in sunglasses and a short-sleeved shirt taking the daring picture using a selfie stick while standing precariously on a metal bar above the flow of traffic.
He was captured on Monday and booked at the Hamilton County Jail.
NYPD said Karnauch illegally climbed the bridge and then took a selfie while perched on the railing.
Police said his actions were “irresponsible and illegal”.
He reiterated: “If he’d stayed there probably a couple more minutes to get that shot, the roving patrols on the bridge, which are there all the time, would have arrested him or summonsed him as they had had others who have done the same stupid thing”, he said.

The image raised questions about the security of the bridge, prompting NYPD official John Miller to play down security concerns, AOL.com reported.
