Brooklyn shoppers hunt for Black Friday savings

Relatively mild temperatures gave ME retailers a boost as they kicked off the official start of the holiday shopping season with midnight openings on Black Friday.

She said the mall did look busier compared to past year.

At the Oakdale Mall, shoppers told NewsChannel 34 there were many deals on iPhones, FitBit bracelets, clothing, towels and other homecare needs. “We’re looking at cheap movies”, he said, holding up a title that caught his interest.

Greenwood Park Mall was a popular shopping spot. Never underestimate what people will do or the lengths they will go to, in order to get a good deal…or fight for one.

A slew of daily shopping traditions follows Thanksgiving and Black Friday, including Small Business Saturday for locally owned shopping, Cyber Monday for online shopping and Giving Tuesday for charitable giving.

Some might think it’s a shame that if he or she works there, they didn’t try to intervene in the affair.

Whether they hit the stores right after taking the last bite of turkey or waited until early Friday morning, shoppers were on the hunt for black Friday deals.

There was a continuous line of shoppers outside the Coach and Michael Kors outlet stores until 2 a.m., Elrod said.

The rest of Sawgrass Mills opened at 6 p.m. and will remain open for 27 hours. That was a signal that the past eight weeks of doing inventory and stocking was all worth it, she added.

“The Black Friday customer is really a die-hard and it’s all about the experience for them and if that includes bad weather, they’re out to experience it”, said Debbie Griesinger, with The Outlet Shoppes At Oklahoma City. Other stores followed and were open through Friday at 9 p.m.

Even then, though, some stores were open to shoppers on the actual holiday.

Stores in the Wiregrass were filled with shoppers searching for Black Friday savings.

Shoppers were out in full force Thursday night to get the biggest bargains for Black Friday.

“The rain slowed people down, maybe”.
