The rescue of 5-year old Omran Daqneesh, pulled from the rubble of his bombed-out Aleppo, Syria, home Wednesday, was broadcast around the world, dominating front pages and drawing tears from television anchors.

The child had been in critical condition for three days, says CNN.
The doctor said Ali suffered a lot of trauma. “Children of Omran’s age in Syria have known nothing but the horror of this war waged by adults”.
The brother of the Syrian boy whose impassive, bloodied and dust-covered image struck a nerve across the globe died of injuries from the airstrike this week on his family’s house in Aleppo.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a United Kingdom -based war monitor, said heavy air strikes on Tuesday had hit many targets in and around Aleppo and elsewhere in Syria, killing dozens.
In that moment of seeing Omran, so many of us were reminded of the image of another Syrian little boy, Aylan Kurdi, who wasn’t lucky.
Opposition activists said there were eight casualties overall from the air strike on Qaterji, among them five children.
The Aleppo Media Center said the airstrike killed at least 16. More than 400,000 people, including 41,000 children, have been killed during the unrest, according to CBS News.
The video and pictures were widely circulated online and in the media, refocusing public opinion on Syria’s civil war and the plight of civilians, particularly in Aleppo.
Omran’s older brother Ali had been outside at the time.
“Ali’s heart stopped and we tried to rescue him”.
