Brothers Accused of Trying to Kill Parents at Georgia Home
The incident happened at the family’s home on the 3000 block of Forbes Trail in unincorporated Snellville just before 8 a.m.

The woman told police that her two sons – one 17 and the other 22 – were trying to kill them both. The mother told police that her husband distracted their sons while she called 911 for help. “The call eventually went silent”, the police said. They were being beaten by their two sons, Cameron and Christopher.
Officers responded to the Snellville, Georgia, home, about 30 miles outside of Atlanta, where they found the father bleeding and seriously injured, police said. Zachary Ervin was hospitalized in critical condition.
Possible motives have not been fully determined, the police said.
Yvonne Ervin “also had blunt force trauma but not as severe as the father”, said Long.
As brutal as the attack on the parents was, that wasn’t the full extent of it, according to police.
Both parents were taken to a local hospital.
Officers detected a strong odor of natural gas inside the home when they arrived.
At this time, Cameron and Christopher Ervin are charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of first-degree arson. The latter charges were for an alleged attempt to cut a gas line and send the house up in flames, investigators said.
He said on Sunday that police have “several theories” about the incident and detectives found evidence showing the brothers had “tried to start a fire”.

Both men were detained at the scene and were “cooperative” during subsequent interviews at Gwinnett County police headquarters, Long said. Long said both suspects are expected to be in court at some point this week.
