Brothers Andy and Jamie Murray reach Wimbledon semifinals in singles
Andy Murray will be a slight -138 favorite when he meets Roger Federer in one of the Wimbledon semi finals this Friday, according to bet365.com.

Pospisil was docked a first serve because of a time violation, and he was none too happy about it. The Canadian was on Centre Court against Murray when the chair umpire gave Pospisil a warning for taking too long to serve in the second set. Federer holds a narrow 12-11 lead over Murray and has won their last three clashes. “I think I was able to do that”. But still I feel like Im fresh and Ive got energy left in the tank for hopefully a great match with Andy and then well see..
Murray was indeed a different player.
On the surface of split decisions, Richard Gasquet delivered his biggest Grand Slam knock-out.
Cilic, 26, lost to Djokovic in five sets in the quarter-finals in 2014 despite being two sets to one ahead.
“Roger’s obviously extremely popular everywhere he goes”, Murray told reporters. Andy also is not the only Murray in the semifinals at Wimbledon this year – so is his older brother, Jamie, who plays with partner John Peersin men’s doubles. “But it will still be an excellent atmosphere, so I’ll still get, you know, a boost from the crowd, I’m sure”.
“I’m more comfortable playing best-of-five-set matches”, he said. “An incredible history of success in Wimbledon”.
But fleeting moments of solid tennis are unlikely to upset the momentum of a man who has an inexhaustible supply of dazzling trick shots – and then some.
It was the first time Federer had been broken in 67 service games at Wimbledon, a streak that stretched to 116 games when including his title run at June’s grass-court tournament in Halle, Germany.
Murray duly snuffed out the danger, and with Prince William, his wife the Duchess of Cambridge and ex-England soccer captain David Beckham, watching under the Centre Court roof that slid shut after a second rain delay, he delivered the winning blow.
In Federer’s box was actor and occasional Wimbledon visitor Bradley Cooper.
Simon, whose counter-punching style mirrors Murray’s, was largely defenseless in their first encounter on grass.
Federer fired 11 aces and 36 winners as he secured a sixth win in eight meetings with Simon, who was attempting to reach the last-four of a major for the first time.
“I never really had a chance at the Olympics”.
“It was hard to have a grip on him”.
He lost to Australian Nick Kyrgios here last year despite having nine match points and two years ago at Roland Garros he went down 8-6 in a fifth set to Wawrinka.
When the third set was claimed confidently he was home and dry and into a sixth Wimbledon semi-final. He set up numerous break points, and even though he was repeatedly frustrated by strong first serves from his opponent, he finally took a decisive advantage with another backhand victor. He improved to 13-0 against the Croat, whose season has been blighted by a shoulder injury.
Now, he will face Djokovic in the semifinals on Friday, with the Serb holding a gaudy 11-1 head-to-head edge.
Richard Gasquet felt he showcased an improved fighting spirit during Wednesday’s thrilling quarter-final victory over French Open champion Stan Wawrinka.
“He’s one of the greatest return players we have in the game, and he’s got a great first serve”. After rain suspended play at 6-5, 15-0, Federer finished the set with a service victor, ace, ace.
It was an entertaining, epic contest.
Gasquet’s victory denied tennis fans a French Open final sequel between Djokovic and Wawrinka.
